Last Friday I made it up to portrait drawing at the Literary Cafe. There was some time to do a sketch of St. Theodosius Greek Orthodox church first, which is quite awesome in person. The domes have a beautiful weathered patina to them.

Two More
Here's two more on the toned paper. It really is a joy to sketch on, you just have to remember the darker colors get sucked in to it a bit, so you have to make sure the dark accents are beefy enough to do their job.

Gardenview Sketch
I stopped up at Gardenview yesterday to do this quick sketch. It's on brown toned paper in a 9.25 x 10 inch scrapbook.

Downtown
I stayed downtown last weekend and got a chance to get close to the gargoyles at the Euclid Arcade. I had always wanted to sketch them in person and the only way to do that is to stay at the hotel that now occupies this historic building. Here's a link to what this magnificent structure looked like in 1901. The gargoyles are on the top floor.
