A watercolor blog. Back runs are the "blossom" or "flower" produced when part of a wash is too wet and the pigment is lifted up and forced to gather at the leading edge of wetness. Some people try to avoid them at all costs. I happen to like 'em.

These are great, Jeff.
Really enjoyed seeing all your September entries and watercolors. Will bookmark so I can see the rest later.
Just wanted to thank you for blogging. Your watercolors exhibit such an inspiring skill! It's like I want to pick each one apart to see how you did it and then give it a shot myself. Great work.
I love the way you paint the spaces and fill the spaces with interesting color changes. This reminds me to do the same when I go out plein aire sketching. Great work!
I love it. This is one of the favorite blogs of mine.Water Color Paintings
Delightful work. So fresh and light, and such beautiful use of white space. About back runs --I like 'em too. Just this week I've been teaching myself to create them intentionally. Still, the best ones come by accident....
Ancora impara ...I am still learning.
